The chosen applicant will be in charge of planning and refining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for both residential and commercial applications. Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- The duties of a design engineer include planning and calculating solar systems for installations on rooftops as well as on the ground.
- Proficiency in using software programs such as Helios cope, AutoCAD, and Open Solar to design ground-mounted and rooftop/residential solar systems.
- Working together to create specialized solar solutions that satisfy project requirements and goals with project managers, engineers, and clients.
- Preparing requirements, documentation, and intricate engineering drawings in preparation for building and permitting.
- Carrying out financial viability analyses, modelling energy production, and shading analysis.
- Must have experience designing PV systems that include a range of components, such as conduit, wire scheduling, equipment planning, single- and three-line diagrams, and routing.
